Structural de risking of under explored basins for subsurface storage As upscaling of #CCS continues on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (#NCS) and around the world, there are an increasing number of new license areas, projects and interest from new players. De-risking of safe, permanent storage sites is therefore pivotal to prevent storage capacity becoming a key bottleneck for CCS efforts in E...

Modelling of factors affecting fault related risks Faults in subsurface models can appear as either discontinuities or structured internally. Concepts such as shale gouge ratio (#SGR) tune the mechanical properties of a fault. SINTEF’s Modified Discrete Element tool studies fault reactivation and associated fracturing. It pairs with the #MRST reservoir simulator to assess permeability changes d...

Using basalt stone (calcium silicate) instead of limestone (calcium carbonate) can do the trick (see Brimstone company). And by using Hydrogen or industrial heat created by renewable sources to heat the kiln can do the rest. What's more, by adding CO2 or activated carbon into the concrete mix can make the concrete stronger so even carbon negative concrete is possible.

You'd think one of Europe's largest research institutes would be able to come up with better videos than this. Seriously. Three minutes of incredibly cliched, stale, corporate-looking and sounding animation fluff. I just checked out their webpage, and the project seems perfectly fine, the reasoning for it are sound and the researchers behind it are credible and professional - but videos like this makes it all feel so greenwashed and 'shady' somehow. They really should look into this, as I think videos like this are harming the research more than helping at this point.

How many passengers would a production electric seaplane carry, plus one or two pilots and one cabin stewardess etc? Or how much cargo and/or freight, could the electric seaplane transport too, Equally what range and top speed, would this electric seaplane have too? Or how many flight hours would this electric seaplane fly for, on one charge of its batteries? Also would it have a way, of recharging its batteries, while inflight, using solar panels or wind turbine generators? Or some kind of onboard aviation fuel or LPG electric generator, or using a hydrogen fuel cell power electric generator? Equally how long will this electric seaplane, take to be recharge between flights, a few minutes on a rapid charging system, or a couple of hours? Or require an overnight charging, taking upto 8 to 12 hours charge, or will the electric seaplane be able to have short rapid recharging, at local airports or small community harbours stops along a flight route or journey? I know it early stages, but if they can get it to work, a electric seaplane could be very useful, in countries like Finland, or Sweden, or Denmark, or Netherlands, or Canada, or North America, or Central and South America , or Caribbean Island Nations, or Africa, Asia and the Far East, as well as Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific Island Countries too! So the Market could be very large, let alone in Europe and the Mediterranean too, so it will be interesting how this develops from here on?

let me see now - instead of freezing - you could do what dupont does - and use formalin - 200 tons cultivated in Norway in 2021 - less than one taretråler brings in in 2 days. All this "research" is being done in many countries - over and over - and already has been done - the only way seaweed cultivation is going to work in europe is by hard work and very low pay. The market for food is simply not there - the market for alginate simply is out of the question. The sea must be used for something??
